Apart from photographing weddings, my first love is landscapes. I’m pretty much out there everyday with my camera looking for shots.
I have explored my local area extensively, I even have an exhibition in August this year titled Black Rock, so when pressed with the question of shooting a wedding at Sandy, well, let’s just thank god for the digital age.
So many photos, so many locations, so much fun!

Being a wedding photographer is an amazing job and I love it.
I can afford to be expressive in what I do, and creative. My passion for the job goes far beyond finding the perfect shot… that much is true.
But something that’s not often addressed is how honoured we are as wedding photographers to document the most intimate and sacred of ceremonies between man and women.
Pete and Emma are close friends of mine and I would like to take this opportunity to express my overwhelming happiness at being invited to enjoy their special day with them and my gratitude for being chosen to photograph their wedding…

Sunday’s conditions were supposed to be worse than Saturday’s so I had to be prepared for anything, but that didn’t include sunny skies and that’s exactly what unfolded.
The sun squeezed its way through the ominous clouds and I was suddenly struck by the concept of shooting a rain free wedding. What would I do?
The rows of vines proved to be a great spot. The foliage was luscious and green and long grass filled the rows between…
A beautiful rustic feel emerged from behind the lens so I made the most of it.

As I drove towards the Yarra Valley I could see the already grey skies becoming darker with every approaching kilometre.
I took a deep breathe to push down the butterflies.
I knew this would be a tough assignment but as bad as those clouds looked I knew the photos wouldn’t be. Now all I have to do is convince the bride… Too easy!

From under the cover of a beautiful creamy marquee on the lawns at Vines Restaurant, Claire and Gareth said “I do” and the heavens opened up and poured lots of love and water upon the newly wed couple and their family and friends, it was beautiful. The umbrellas also made great props for their photos.
On a profound note, a friend of mine told me that rain on your wedding day is a sign of fertility. The thought of this had me a little worried as my own wedding in June was littered with showers but I have to say it… she could be right as Claire and Gareth are now expecting their first child together…
Uh oh, that means I could be next!
